Belize – Day 3
An amazing day started with waffles and fresh fruit as we headed off to work again with the pre-school students and to continue the work on the playground structures. The students presented a skit, and then shared the Easter story through a series of large pictures. Some more crafts and lots of fun time followed this!
At the same time, the other half of the students were busy making cement, pouring posts and getting the foundations in for a swing set and a tire climbing apparatus. We are also building a bench under a huge tree to sit and enjoy the shade by the playground.
Back to the base for lunch was then followed by a trek into the jungle where Lazarus taught all of the students how to get water and food, build a shelter, trap birds and even about how to use different trees and plants to cure different ailments. It was a very incredible experience for all!
This evening Lazarus and Alicia shared some of their crafts and carvings made from all of the materials found in the surrounding jungle. Finally, a time of devotions ended our day, and provided some time to reflect on being a ‘fan’ or ‘follower’ of Jesus.
All the students are great, we have no health issues and everyone is eating well!
More student comments will be included tomorrow, as our computer time is really limited today! Blessings to all of you back home!!!
